Instructions
- Prepare the pan – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Make the batter – In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Add cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Bake – Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for 22–26 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is just slightly underdone for fudgy brownies.
- Cool completely – Let the brownies cool in the pan before decorating.
- Decorate – Add candy eyes, pipe on frosting bandages for mummies, press in cookie “tombstones,” or drizzle white chocolate for spiderwebs. Get creative!
